"Relationship"

     Is there anyone of us who do not need and even crave relationships?  Our whole life is built on relationships with others.  Some of these have such positive impact on our lives while others are devastating to our well being.  Counselors and psychologists can tell us that our past relationships have much to say about who and what we become.  Children need good, positive relationships for proper development.  Is this any different for the child of God?

     As the part of God's creation that is equipped with emotions, a conscience, and a soul we yearn for meaningful relationships.  Like children, proper relationships play a large role in developing who and what we are.  Let us seek a deeper relationship with our Creator.  If you have not had healthy relationships in your past, with parents or siblings or others, then you may feel there is no hope; but, God is the author of true and everlasting hope.

     Like all good relationships, time and conscious effort are required in their building. To develop a relationship with the eternal Father, set aside time to spend with Him.  In that time dwell in His word, the Bible.  Talk with Him in prayer.  Jesus the Christ, God's son, took time to go to His Father in prayer.  He took time to teach his disciples to pray.  If the Son of God needed this to maintain his relationship with the Father, then how much more so should we?  Pour your soul out to Him; Jesus did.  Share your joys and your sorrows, your petitions and your thanksgivings.
