"Weak, Tired, and Worn"

Dear God,

     When life seems out of control . . . when it's reeling and tumbling in . . . help me then to hear Your call.  Please help me then to realize that it's not about my control - it's about yours.  Help me, God, to know it's all about You and your power and my willingness to seek You and trust in that power.

     As I struggle with the idea that nothing "I" can do will help, may I fall humbly at your feet and confess my arrogance.  May I prostrate myself before You and know that You are not a god that wants to see me grovel, but that You are my God who knows my need to acknowledge your awesomeness so that I can truly experience the greatest comfort and joy.

     It is my fervent prayer that each morning as I wake to face what trials that day may hold, that I may say unwaveringly, "Abba, this day and all that it brings I lay at your feet.  In my weakness may your power be displayed.  You are the Rock of my salvation."

     And Father, please do not allow me to become so absorbed in my own problems that I fail to see the struggles of those around me.  You have so wonderfully formed us to need connection.  Connection with You, connection with others.  Please help me to use the experiences that come my way to help others who are living through similar trials, for that is one of the true blessings of suffering . . . to do so so that I can better help others.

    Yahweh, thank You for those You give us to help see us through.  Our mates, our families, our spiritual families; in these many strands the rope is made strong.  My heart begs that You give us the wisdom and discernment to be what you would have us to be to one another as we continue life's journey.  And God . . . when we are all . . .  broken . . . please pick us up and take us home.
